presence, power, purpose
When we gather as a Life Group, we follow a simple pattern of experiencing the PRESENCE, POWER and PURPOSE of Jesus Christ:
To begin their times together, Life Groups are encouraged to seek the presence of the Lord through praise and worship or even just a simple prayer inviting the Holy Spirit to come and fill each one with His love and power, seeking Him to release His love to flow through each person to one another (see 1 Cor 14:26-33).
This flow of God’s love to one another is what we call a display of His power. He uses us in a variety of ways to minister His love and power through spiritual gifts that each person is encouraged to use by faith. It may be teaching, or mercy, or encouragement, or healing prayer. The Lord knows just what to do to minister to one another as we gather (see 1 Cor 12:1-7; Rom 12:3-9; 1 Peter 4:8-11).
God has a wonderful purpose for each one of our lives and we hope that the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our time together will help us as we seek to fulfill that purpose: in our families, our place of work or school, in our community, and in the world! We also want to discern together what the Lord would have us do to fulfill His purpose of seeking and saving the lost (Luke 19:10). The Holy Spirit can fill us with ideas of how to serve others with God’s love and how to help each other share the message of grace and forgiveness through Jesus Christ!
